of jail time for her human rights work, says she doesn’t want her relatives to visit her again after they were roughed up recently. Her husband, Reza Khandan, told Radio Farda that during a visit earlier this month guards tried to snatch a cellphone from Sotoudeh’s sister and the husband’s notebook. When they protested, the two adults and Sotoudeh’s children, an 11 -year-old daughter and four-year-old son, were all detained for several hours and the children were denied food. Khandan said his wife wrote the authorities saying she preferred not to see her relatives until their safety was guaranteed inside the prison. One of Sotoudeh’s crimes is being a member of the human rights group formed by Nobel laureate Shirin Ebadi.
