Republican Tom Cotton (photo), who was just elected to the US Senate from Arkansas, has come up with a novel and out-of-the box suggestion for dealing with Iran. He has proposed that the United States give Israel some “surplus B-52s” along with the biggest US bunker buster bombs (which Washington has always refused to supply to Israel). He said the B-52 has the range to strike Iran and return to Israel without refueling. None of the planes Israel has currently can do that and Israel has very limited aerial refueling capacity.
