: Tehran’s Persepolis soccer team won this year’s professional league championship for the seventh time in the last eight years. Esteghlal, also based in Tehran, was in second place just one point behind Persepolis. The third placed team, Sepahan of Esfahan, was 10 points behind Esteghlal.
