Iran rose two slots on FIFA’s global computer rankings of national soccer teams this month. It now ranks 40th in the world and remains first in Asia. Japan is second in Asia and 50th in the world. But the real big news of this month’s computer ranking is that Bhutan, long ranked 209th and last in the world, has now risen 46 slots to 163rd place on the basis of its 1-0 and 2-1 victories over Sri Lanka in the first round of play leading to the 2018 World Cup finals.
