Inflation5Inflation in Iran is continuing its very slow retreat from its murderously high levels of a half-year ago. As compared with the same month last year, the most-often used comparison, inflation was 26.3 percent in the Persian month of Dey, ending January 20, down from 27.8 percent the month before. As an average for the last 12 months, the rate was 38.6 percent, down from 40 percent the month before. Iran remains a country with among the highest rates in the world.
