Back in September, Iran offered to fully equip the Lebanese Armed Forces with all its needs. Last week, Defense Minister Hossain Dehqan said Iran was still prepared to do so but hasn’t yet heard from Beirut. Tehran shouldn’t expect an answer. Lebanon knows that UN sanctions bar it from accepting any Iranian weaponry. Furthermore, Lebanon has already accepted a military aid offer from Saudi Arabia.
