Iman Pahlavi, middle daughter of Crown Prince Reza, married American businessman Brad Sherman in New York City May 10 in an unconventional ceremony that saw the bride going braless and the groom going tie-less, looking more like revolutionary in Tehran than a groom in New York.
The bride’s sister, Noor Pahlavi, took to Instagram to post a carousel of photos from the big day, which included Iman sheltering from the rain under an umbrella in an unconventional wedding dress by American designer Rosie Assoulin.
The daughter of Yasmine and Reza Pahlavi kept it low-key and decidedly non-royal in a white halterneck gown with sailor-inspired bows, a backless dress with an ankle-length skirt and no bridal train.
Ivory pointed-toe heels with a sparkly strap and statement floral earrings were her only accessories, with the modern bride choosing to forego a veil. Instead, Iman tied her long brunette hair into a low ponytail with curled tendrils left loose around her face, the Spanish-based Hello! lifestyle magazine reported. Hello! frequently reports on the Pahlavi family, but in reporting on Noor’s wedding it said nothing about grandmother Farah, who is now 86.
Iman’s new husband, Brad, wore a black suit but left his shirt open without a tie, reflecting the relaxed atmosphere that saw them celebrate with an evening meal at a restaurant with cocktails.
Iman and Brad met in 2017 through mutual friends in New York, where she is believed to work at American Express.
They announced their engagement in 2023, after Brad proposed on a Florida beach surrounded by torches and flower petals. Iman wiped away a tear as she stood barefoot against the backdrop of the ocean and looked down at Brad, who was on one knee in a white shirt and cream trousers.
Iman is 31 years old. Sister Noor is 33 years old and unmarried. Their youngest sister, Farah, just turned 21 in January.
