He said the fourth Kavoshgar rocket launch last month carried a doll of a monkey in order to have the same mass and dimensions as the planned launch of a real monkey. He said everything went well with that test and so he hoped to loft the real monkey by mid-September “if fundamental changes are not made in the Kavoshgar.” He didn’t explain why “fundamental changes” might be required if the March test flight went perfectly. There has been speculation Iran has had problems with the Kavoshgar. The regime showed photos of the capsule from the first Kavoshgar after it landed safely. But no pictures have been shown of any capsules from the three Kavoshgars launched since then.
