Two female siblings who were connected to each other at birth were successfully separated in an hours-long surgery in Shiraz. Ten-month old Roghayeh and Um al-Banin (photo), who shared parts of the small intestine, pancreas and duodenum, went through a high-risk surgery to part ways. The twins had undergone a previous surgery when they were 3-1/2 months old to get their livers separated, when the doctors found they shared more vital organs.
