The US Senate unanimously passed a resolution last Thursday condemning the violence used against political demonstrators in Iran, expressing “strong support for the people of Iran in their peaceful calls” for democracy, and urging the regime to free all prisoners detained “on the basis of their religion, faith, ethnicity, race, gender, sexual orientation or political belief.”
