A senior general has accused President Rohani of making secret side deals with the Big Six that are not part of the published nuclear agreement.

Brig. Gen. Mohammad-Reza Naqdi, who is the commander of the Basij militia force, said Rohani had made secret concessions to the Big Six and was concealing secret paragraphs hidden in the agreement.

Naqdi notably failed to say anything about the content of these supposedly secret paragraphs.

He also referred to the concessions as being made to the six major powers, thereby including in his condemnation Russia and China and implicitly reverting to the post-revolutionary slogan of “Neither East Nor West,” a slogan that was allowed to die after the fall of the Soviet Union.

Naqdi was speaking at a news conference last week at which he also said, “It is impossible to compare the Iran of today with the Iran under the Shah. Back then, Iran was subordinate to the United States, while today the United States is subordinate to Iran’s domination in the Middle East and cannot act in the region without first getting the approval of the Supreme Leader of Iran.”
