Iran has a sports ethics committee that has punished some players for taking selfies with female fans who were not dressed according to the state dress code. Judge Morteza Turak is the current head of that committee. Interviewed recently on state television, he was asked if the players had been given copies of the ethics code and explained the basis for selfie restrictions. Turak responded, “The laws of the country do not need to be announced to them.”
