Andranik Teymourian (photo), who used to play soccer professionally in Britain but has now returned to Tehran to play for Esteghlal, interrupted play earlier this month to escort a butterfly off the field before it got crushed underfoot. Esteghlal was playing against Buri-ram United of Thailand in Thailand in the Asian Champions League when he showed his affection for wildlife. Well, one good deed deserves another and shortly after the butterfly rescue, Teymourian fired a shot on goal from 35 meters out and miraculously scored, putting Iran up 2-1 and guaranteeing a spot in the semifinals for Esteghlal.
