Safe again

November 19, 2021

Immediately after the Pasdaran shot down a Ukrainian passenger plane in January 2020, the European Union Safety Agency issued an advisory notice saying it was unsafe to fly over Iran below 25,000 feet.  That suggested planes could safely transit Iran (which is done at altitudes above 30,000 feet) but not fly to airports in Iran. On October 30, the agency let its latest extension of that notice expire.  The notice was purely advisory and a few European airlines resumed flights to Iran before October 30.
