Republican Sen. Susan Collins (photo) of Maine has written that when mobs invaded the Capitol January 6 she initially thought “the Iranians” were attacking in vengeance for the assassination of Maj. Gen. Qassem Soleymani. Collins was mocked by many online. She is a member of the Senate Intelligence Committee and had been hearing testimony for weeks about how Iran might strike the US around January 3, the first anniversary of Soleymani’s assassination.
