Former President Mohammad Khatami Friday renewed his calls for the release of all political prisoners. Several months ago, Khatami said Reformists would not participate in the June elections unless all political prisoners—especially Mir-Hossain Musavi and Mehdi Karrubi—were first released. That call was later allowed to fall by the wayside.
