The first was the unpublicized release of a fishing boat from Somali pirates by a Danish warship January 7. The second was the well-publicized rescue by the US Navy of Iranians held hostage on board their own fishing boat by Somalia refugees. The third was the rescue by the US Coast Guard of a fishing boat that was floundering in the Persian Gulf. The latest was the rescue a second time of the fishing boat the Danes had freed two weeks earlier. This time an Italian warship found it drifting with its engine broken down. Italian mechanics tried to fix it, but said that couldn’t be done at sea. The Italians waited until someone came to tow the Iranian boat to port.
