Social media have been filled with messages from citizens who are unable to connect with www.london2012.com and are instead re-directed to an Iranian government news service.
There has been no comment from the government about the blockage reports.
A check of the website’s homepage did not show anything that would appear likely to upset the Islamic Republic.
The summer games begin July 27.
