For four months, the Culture Ministry has forbidden New York Times reporter Thomas Erdbrink from filing stories. Erdbrink has worked for the Times in Tehran since 2012 and has periodically had his license suspended before. The Times has been keeping Erdbrink in Tehran and says it expects he will be able to resume reporting soon. Erdbrink, a Dutch national, is married to an Iranian photographer, who has also been barred from working the past four months. Before joining the Times, Erdbrink covered Iran for The Washington Post. When he shifted to the Times, the Post hired Jason Rezaian as its reporter.
