Regime loves the BBC

with Tehran that will allow the BBC’s English service to resume reporting from inside Iran with a British national.  This comes when Iranian politicians continue to assail Britain in general and the BBC in particular as the height of dishonesty.  But The Guardian says a deal was cut in September under which James Reynolds will be allowed to enter Iran to report.  The newspaper said Reynolds would initially be based outside Iran and would fly in and out.  Since last year’s elections, foreign reporters have only rarely been allowed into Iran for brief trips.  Foreign news bureaus remain open but staffed by Iranian citizens who are subject to close monitoring by the regime.
