The Islamic Republic continues to slam the United States for withdrawing from the Paris climate accord despite the fact that 1) the Biden Administration rejoined the agreement back in January and 2) Iran is one of only four countries in the world that has never ratified the treaty.
The Islamic Republic attended the November conference in Glasgow, Scotland, on the treaty where it announced that it would do nothing to come into compliance with the treaty until all US sanctions against Iran are lifted.
It did not mention that it did nothing to come into compliance back in 2015 when the Obama Administration lifted sanctions under the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA).
Iran signed the climate treaty that same year. In fact, all 193 UN member states have signed the treaty. But Yemen, Libya, Eritrea and Iran are the only four countries that have not yet ratified the treaty. And Iran is the only one of the four that produces any offending pollutants in large volume.
The Islamic Republic, meanwhile, continues to attack the United States for withdrawing from the climate treaty. President Trump announced his intent to withdraw years ago, but could not withdraw until November 2020. President Biden re-joined the treaty on his first day in office last January and the US was only outside the treaty for 77 days.
