Argentina’s anger at Iran is being fueled by its new president and the government there has asked Interpol to issue a Red Notice seeking the arrest of Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi (photo) for his role as a junior Pasdar officer in the 1994 bombing of the Jewish Community Center in Buenos Aires. When the request was reported, Vahidi was in Pakistan with President Raisi. Raisi then moved on to Sri Lanka but Vahidi quickly went home to Tehran, likely fearful of being arrested. What news agencies have failed to report is that Interpol has not posted any Red Notice for Vahidi four weeks after the request was made. Interpol is leery of posting Red Notices they suspect may involve more politics than law enforcement.
