The cabinet last week allocated 50 billion rials ($1.4 million) to compensate for losses wildlife rangers may suffer when they come under attack by poachers, as is happening all too frequently. An additional complaint from rangers is that one of their number was recently convicted of involuntary manslaughter after he killed a poacher in a gunfight.
