News reports from just before Now Ruz said Iran had seized an Iraqi ship. But an Iraqi legislator and former transport minister, Kazem Finjan Al-Hammami, later said pirates had seized an Iraqi tugboat that ran aground just off the Iranian coast and were demanding a ransom of $80,000. No one has said whether Iran is trying to help free the boat and crew.
