Soaring prices for medications have led three out of 10 patients to turn around and leave pharmacies without buying their prescribed medicines, the Iranian Pharmacists Association reports.
Hadi Ahmadi, a member of the board of the Pharmacists Association said January 26, “The increase in the price of certain medications has shocked the public, with three out of every 10 people who enter a pharmacy choosing not to buy their medication.”
The Tasnim news agency recently reported that medication prices have surged up to 400 percent since the government began phasing out subsidized foreign currency that has long been used to buy drug imports.
