As part of the state’s effort to promote a bigger population, the State Welfare Organization will pay 1.5 million rials ($42) monthly for each child beyond two that a family has. The organization said the allowances could only be used for specific childcare costs such as babysitters and pre-school tuition. It didn’t say how it planned to enforce that restriction.
