The Defense Ministry has announced that the Pasdaran will soon get their first submarines. It said they would be “small and semi-heavy” subs, all to be made in Iran. Iran currently has three Russian-made subs, two Iranian-made small subs and up to 24 domestically made midget submarines with just seven-man crews. But all those subs are assigned to the regular Navy.
