Parsi Bows Out

Rouzbeh Parsi, 52, longtime head of the Middle East program at the Swedish Institute of International Affairs, has stepped down after a probe by the group into his links to the Iranian government. The investigation concluded he was not involved in any campaign orchestrated by the Islamic Republic, but said some of his links to the Islamic Republic were incompatible with his role at the institute, according to a Swedish television report. He is the brother of Trita Parsi, who was raised in Sweden but moved to the United States where he founded the National Iranian American Council (NIAC) and was often charged with being too close to the Islamic Republic.
