The Iranian Navy reported repelling yet another Somali pirate attack on an Iranian oil tanker Saturday. It seems that Somali pirates aren’t attacking any vessels other than Iranian ships these days! The International Maritime Bureau has not reported even a single Somali pirate effort to board a ship at sea anywhere in the eastern Indian Ocean any time during 2015. But the Iranian Navy has reported major gun battles with pirates a half dozen times this year. The International Maritime Bureau doesn’t believe Iran’s claims and does not list any of them.
