Morteza Shaikhzadeh, spokesman for the Qeshm Free Trade Area Organization, told Al-Monitor last week that the US Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) had issued a license to Bombardier, the Canadian aircraft manufacturer, to sell 10 of its jets to a new Iranian airline the Qeshm group is organizing. If so, it would be the first such license issued under the Trump Administration. Bombardier has said nothing. OFAC does not make license announcements but leaves that to the manufacturer.
