Intelligence Minister Mahmud Alavi has boasted that Iran successfully recruited a former cabinet minister from a “hostile” country. While he didn’t name the country, Israel arrested a former cabinet minister, Gonen Segev, in June and charged him with acting as an Iranian spy after he left the cabinet. The boastfulness of Alavi startled observers; the trial of Segev hasn’t yet been completed and Alavi is endangering him by his braggadocio.
