Although it was announced a few months ago to great fanfare that Foreign Minister Mohammad-Javad Zarif would make a visit to Saudi Arabia and many pundits started writing of the end to Iranian-Saudi clashes, the Foreign Ministry has now denied that there are any plans for such a visit. News reports from Saudi Arabia have indicated the Saudis are willing to welcome Zarif but only if he gives them some substantive change in Iranian policy in the Persian Gulf first.
