No missile firings for fun

A group of Majlis deputies has signed a statement demanding that a batch of Iranian missiles be test-fired immediately to prove that the nuclear agreement with the Big Six doesn’t preclude work on missiles.  The government seemed perplexed by the public demand, which hinted some Majlis deputies don’t believe the government when it says it can continue missile work.  The nuclear agreement is silent on the missile issue, but the UN Security Council resolution forbids UN member states from selling missile technology to Iran, which doesn’t preclude Iran from doing missile development work on its own.  Maj. Gen. Hassan Firuzabadi, chairman of the Joint Staff of the armed forces, said missiles would be test fired when testing was needed, effectively brushing the Majlis deputies aside.
