interview it said it had with an Iranian woman jailed in the United States for smuggling. PressTV said Shahrazad Mir-Gholikhan described how she was regularly tortured in prison. A spokesman for the US Bureau of Prisons told the Iran Times this week that Mir-Gholikhan never had an interview with PressTV, as the news outlet claimed. The spokesman said Mir-Gholikhan had spoken with others by telephone and speculated that one of them might have related her comments to PressTV. The Bureau of Prisons does not, as a matter of policy, comment on prisoners’ remarks. But the treatment PressTV said Mir-Gholikhan described is illegal and her lawyer could file a complaint about such treatment.
