Botas imports natural gas by pipeline from Russia and Iran under contracts that require it to pay for fixed amounts even if it doesn’t take that gas. (It’s called take-or-pay.) Now, it seems private importers are bringing in LNG and underselling Botas so that Botas cannot use all the gas it must pay for. Hence, Botas wants the government to stop the cheap imports.
