Nobel laureate Narges Mohammadi was given a three-week medical furlough from prison early in December. As the Iran Times goes to press, she is still free, three months after she was due back in her cell.
The regime sometimes does this with political prisoners whose continued imprisonment has become an embarrassment. The regime has not harassed her even though in January she spoke by video hookup with the French parliament’s women’s rights committee and told them, “I believe in the need to end the Islamic Republic.”
