The new government of Australia is refusing to release information on what is happening at sea in its efforts to stop asylum seekers from sailing to Australia.  So, it isn’t known how many boats have arrived in Australia, been sent back to Indonesia or sunk at sea.  Among the few tidbits of news released, Immigration Minister Scott Morrison said 707 asylum seekers had reached Australia in the eight weeks since the new government took office versus 3,000 in the eight weeks before the election.
