Phase 16 of the giant South Pars gasfield has just come on stream. The field is divided into 28 phases with the first phases coming on stream in 2000. Before this year, a total of 11 phases had come on stream. This year, seven phases, including Phase 16, have started producing. The remaining phases 19 through 28 are due to begin producing next year.
