Fereydun Abbasi, the new chief of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, said small reactors of 10 to 20 megawatts would be built “in the next few years.”  None are being built yet.  The Tehran reactor is rated at five megawatts.  Abbasi said Iran needed the new reactors to produce radioisotopes for medical use, including exporting the isotopes to regional and Islamic countries.
