Pakistan has ordered 18 electrical transformers from Iran for $46 million. But they haven’t left Iran because of sanctions. “Yes, our transformers have been held in Iran as no mechanism has yet evolved to make the payment,” a senior official of the Water and Power Ministry told The News of Pakistan. He said the ministry was looking into the possibility of a barter deal with Pakistan paying in wheat or rice.
