The new chief of the Iranian armed forces, Major General Mohammad-Hossain Baqeri, last week publicly proclaimed that Iran had set up a factory in Syria that made the rockets and missiles Hezbollah fired at Israel during the 33-day war in July and August 2006. Hezbollah fired 4,000 missiles into Israel, setting off a large number of forest fires and killing 44 civilians—24 Jews, 15 Sunnis, four Christians and one Druze.
