An expatriate group has chosen 27-year-old Shirin Heidari (photo) as Miss Iran and announced that she will be participating in the 2019 Miss Universe pageant. But the Miss Universe organization has not recognized the Miss Iran contest. Heidari was born in Tehran but now lives in New Zealand, where she holds a degree in architecture and engineering from the University of Auckland.
