Parish Perry Petty (photo), an American basketball player on the Shahrdari Gorgan team, garnered national news coverage recently by hurling the ball three-quarters the length of the court at the bell to score and tie the final game of the season. Gorgan went on to win the title in overtime. Petty was finishing his third year with the team and said, “Iran is a good place to be, in my opinion. That’s why I come back every year.”
