Tasked with designing and marketing high-end cookies, Melody pitched the idea that “biscuits [British for cookie] are the new popcorn.” Although last week four individuals seemed to be enough to support Melody’s belief that a popular item would be unpopular, Melody rejected most of the opinions of the 20 people in this week’s focus group, saying, “I don’t like that idea. I don’t like it.”
While the other team chose to target mothers and children for their cookies, Melody and her teammates compromised—after several arguments between Melody and team Project Manager Zoe Beresford—into making a two-in-one cookie that was half covered in chocolate.
To pitch their “Bix Mix,” Melody suggested doing role-plays, such as a “girls night in” that included the cookies. The non-traditional approach and barely rehearsed skits failed to attract any orders and Melody’s losing team was sent to the boardroom, where one of the three was destined to be fired.
Melody and Zoe continued their squabbling there, with teammate Tom Pellereau chiming in occasionally. Lord Sugar, for whose money the contestants are competing, ultimately decided to fire Zoe from the show for going along with the bad ideas of her team.
After what she called a “very dramatic” boardroom, Melody stays on to compete another week with the remaining two men and three other women for the $400,000 prize.
