Mission Hospital in Mission Viejo, California, has announced the completion of its state-of-the-art Neuroscience & Spine Institute (NSI), a $185-million facility headed up by Dr. Farzad Massoudi.

The hospital called NSI “one of the most advanced treatment centers in the western United States.”

The NSI is dedicated to helping those suffering major neurological and spinal problems including strokes, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, spinal cord injuries, Parkinson’s disease and behavioral and mental health disorders.

Massoudi, the medical director of NSI, has been practicing medicine for 23 years and specializes in neurological surgery.

He graduated from the Georgetown University School of Medicine in Washington, DC, in 1991.  Before that, he attended the University of California at Irvine where he received degrees in both biology and mathematics and graduated in the top 5 percent of his class.
