Last March, China and Iran signed a 25-year “strategic partnership,” which was billed as a grand new opening to close relations. So, what have been the results? Not much. In the first 10 months of the current Persian year, trade between the two countries has actually decreased by 6.5 percent. No major new investments have been announced. Thus far, the agreement doesn’t seem to have amounted to much.
