December 06-2013
As of last Tuesday, it was 2,455 days since retired FBI agent Robert Levinson, now 65, was taken away by Iranian police on Kish island in 2007. The FBI says that is one day more than journalist Terry Anderson was held hostage in the late 80s and early 90s by the Lebanese Hezbollah. That makes Levinson the longest held American hostage in history. The family last had word about him in 2011 when an anonymous email arrived with photos of Levinson in a long beard and chains.
