According to the state news agency, the very first railway freight cars have now arrived at the Incheboron rail crossing into Turkmenistan. This was a curious announcement given that Iran and Turkmenistan held a formal ceremony opening the border crossing seven years ago in 2014. The news agency said there were still some problems “due to the lack of bridges,” but it didn’t say how the rail cars got where they were going without the bridges.
