Labor reporters sacked

The Iranian Labor News Agency (ILNA) last week mass fired the five reporters in its labor section, which seems a tad odd for an organization dedicated to labor.  Esmail Mohammad-vali, the ousted chief of the labor section, wrote on Facebook, “The climax of the conflict over differences between the labor section and ILNA’s director general came when we resisted the censorship of coverage of protests by workers of the Farsit Dorood factory in front of the Labor Ministry.”  He said the reporters were also prevented from giving much coverage to the many teacher protests over pay.
