The Los Angeles police and the FBI are both involved in the hunt and are seeking public help because they have gotten no where so far. The LA police said the woman, Iman Maryam Sufi, 48, was having a court-authorized visit with her three-year-old son on November 5.
The child’s father has legal custody of the child, which is rare in the United States, and the mother was authorized weekly visits with a monitor in attendance.
During the November visit, however, Sufi locked the monitor up and walked off with the boy. The boy is described as an Armenian Iranian with black hair and brown eyes.
He stands three- feet tall and weighs about 35 pounds. Anyone with information is asked to contact the LA police at (818) 304-8816.
